Default Starting a mini Zoo lol

Hi all, We have fish tanks and springer pup. Going to get a jack russell pup in may and build an aviary in the back garden. We are also going to get an copuchin monkey.

Getting a single monkey is really cruel as they need to be kept with their own. Please get a couple or none at all, I know their very cool but if kept alone they'll never be happy. So unless you got loadsa space and cash, not a great idea...

I have to echo what other people have said, monkeys are often compared to people - they need lots of space, like to be in groups and are very intelligent so need a lot of stimulation. Unless you can provide this (with out meaning to cause offence) I doubt you or many people other than zoos could provide.

Amen to that Tina, people don't realize about the needs of certain animals. No offense to you short4jcat but what bothers me is the people who breed and sell such animals, they have no concern or regard for who their selling these animals to or what conditions/care the animal will receive.

I don't know your cir***stances but capuchins in their natural habitat live together in groups of 6 upwards..Then your always gonna have the alpha male and alpha female, so the enclosure needs to be big of they will fight amongst each other lots. Also their not vegetarians, so they need a really varied diet insects, eggs etc..

It's a whole lot of maintenance and seeing how cold our winters are, these guys are native to hot climates,, so you'd need indoor space for these guys also..

Please dotn create another one of these...
