dont know of any concealed skimmers,Unless you have a sump to put it in . I have my pump concealed behind the liverock and the actual skimmer is at the back of the tank,.as for an out side filter I have thrown out my sponges and media and replaced with liverock fragments with a layer of floss at the top which I clean weekly .
