i think you would be ok with the HMA filter and possable the 2 pod? do a little research to see if you need 2 or 3 pod Alex.

first its a sediment pre filter that protects the hma membraine filter if u replace the prefilter regular then i dont see why they wouldnt last that long and your right they have no waste water.
your also right in they dont alter the chemistry of the wqter( they dont remove the minerals or alter the ph) they just remove the chlorine and heavy metals and nasty stuff.

i have come to realise that the discus boys use more hma than ro. and they mix/blend enough ro into the hma to get the ph right .adding more or less they can controle the ph of their water.

im tempted just to purchase the replacement pod/canister and hma membrain and incorperate it in my filter.i could then use filterd water before the final ro membraine and if needed switch a tap over to ro pod for my ro water . in the new house i plan to have it in the utility room where i can get to it easy as mine is under a unit behind my sink.

alex join bidka if you plan on getting one from devotedly discus you may save a couple of pounds and Mark is donating 3% of members purchase to a show funding they are doing later this year.
