I can always tell when one of the Parrots is laying eggs, because thats when i see virtually all the rainbow's in the bottom third of the tank together instead of mid/upper levels.

Basically, a Parrot will lay eggs (happens about every 3-4 weeks, different parrots), then the parrot will just abandon the eggs and the rainbow's practically form a que to eat the eggs

Anyone else had Parrots laying eggs, i know the males are 99% in-fertile so i read, but i never even see a male trying to fertilise them now, it's almost like they (both the female and males) have realised, it aint happenin'

forgot about these pics, took them on night of setting up tank, Pete persuaded my son to get into the tank for some pictures

Pete was threatening a Court Martial in the event of no "child in tank" pics

Tank seems properly settled now, fish colouring up after their big move, i think going to a bigger tank made the fish much more shy and skittish that i imagined it would.

Unfortunately cannot get a decent pic of of the Datnioides Microlepis (black/yellow stiped fish in pictures).

The rainbows are showing quite a bit of breeding behaviour and colouring up nicely, but it's hard to get a decent picture of them, i have to get the flash on to catch their colours, i find them just blurred otherwise, as they move so fast.

All pictures taken today.

I still can't stand those parrots. Aside from that it's looking good Lex, personally I'd have a hood on that tank.

Something thats been a complete accident was the way i have placed the x2 spray bars from the Eheims (2028's). I have them facing directly up and they are splashing onto the top glass and coming down like a "rain fall" effect in the tank, but it's not particularly noisy. It really looks nice.

I also have a Fluval 4+ in there to add to water circulation. I am pretty sure there is enough water movement / circulation, i can see the little Jellybean's getting pushed about by the current sometimes, even when no where near a filter outlet.
