yeh i know what you mean, but i am kind of getting used to tanks without hoods, it doesn't bother me, which is handy as it obviously means the £££ can be spent elsewhere

Thanks Saz, i can't do without my bog wood, might even try it with Malawi one day (which i could probably get away with considering my reasonably high KH in tapwater)

I test quite a bit, like to learn about what effects water etc, I've had tanks completely stacked with bogwood/mopani and the biggest effect has been about 0.4 reducation on pH (from about 7.8 to 7.4) but most of the time the effect is about 0.1 or 0.2

Not that you were wanting a mini-lecture on bog wood / water params, lol
