Terence, how are the 3 "spikey" plants doing, the bright green ones, left, centre and right of tank, are they thinning at all in the leaves or wasting away mate?

all i have is 2" kids sand/ gravel mix substrate...x3 24W T5s[1 attinic blue + 2white] lights on 10 Hrs a day [8 for white,2 for blue] get the plants in right places n leave em there, dont keep moving em...live stock=adult male guppies + some guppy/endler fry from lex + 3 small corys, just the right amount for the size of tank...i do 1 weekly waterchange of 25% [i use dechlorinater for this tank]once a month syphon the substrate, once a quarter clean out fluval 405 external [which has only alfagrog as a filter media]i also have a small pre filter sponge on the intake pipe which gets cleaned when i do a W/C...i dont use CO2 or fertilizer...i dont test the water, but if i did id worry more bout nitrates/nitrites/ammonia/phosphate...get plants + fish that will live in ya tapwater and ya wont go far wrong, too much faffing can cause stress to the fish + yaself, which can put ya off fish keeping...
