kenny mate

i'm very very impressed, they look to be coming on really well.

how many do you have in your shoal?

i'm a big fan of rbp's, but no room to keep any at the moment.

so i'll live out my piranha dreams through your pics

ps

i dont wanna start a frozen food vs live war

BUT rbp's are predators, and we as fishkeepers owe it to any fish we keep to try and emulate their natural habitat

I'd feed live once they got to the right size.

They're actually scavengers more than predators. If you want to go natural than drop a struggling bird in every so often as well. If you want to go really natural I think you've screwed up by putting them in a tank.

yeah a lot of people won't agree.

but my only dislike about feeding live is you have to do a lot more water changes.

if you were gonna keep p's but feed them frozen stuff, i think that kinda defeats the point of keeping P's?

Rob don't give Kenny ideas.

He'll be stealing pigeons out of the tree's and feeding his P's with them

I think keeping fish in a pond/tank can be very similar to the fishes natural environment if done correctly.

I mean we work hard to get their exact water parameters, we decorate the tank with similar gravel/sand/plants etc to replicate their natural habitat. Pick other fish to go with that would mirror their natural surroundings. To me feeding them as they'd be fed in the wild makes a lot of sense.

I think saying anything kept in a tank is far from natural is a bit of a cop out mate.

No need for live food 24/7, but mix it up. Bugs, creepy crawlies, feeders.

Personal preference of course.

But even if he uses frozen foods, they were still live before they were frozen? Why are you so anti live feeding?

I don't wanna put any backs up. No slagging off or hate mail, but yeah discuss
