nah rob the cory breeding tank is all sorted, just a little 3fter which is just about ready for them to go into.

this is for a rio 300 i picked up from fryboy a while back. it's going to be in a bedroom so doesn't need to be no fancy lardy dah looking hood, just needs to hold the lights in place safely and keep the fish from jumping out.

your hood does look good and did look good when i was there, i forgot you did your's, definitly better than other's i've seen.

I think it's what they (although maybe not yours) look like after 6 months, once all the water gets to it thats puts me off.

Although as Roberto Pagerio i am sure knows, there must be ways to protect the wood from being manipulated by the water/moisture, as obviously wooden purpose built hoods seem to last

but then peter wakes up hugging his teddy!

i use thin polycarbonate as a tank cover on all my tanks! i have cut the top of some tetra food tubs and inserted the top collar with screw top lid into the polycarbonate giving me easy feeding holes that are water tight! very little condensation to get onto the underside of my hoods! yeh where it had the filter canister pipe i get black funguss on the solid hardwood!

You could use perspex and make light holders out of guttering ,cable tie the tubbe end caps in and before you fit the tubes glue baking foil to the underside to reflect the light! u could fix this between two end panels or raised up on 4 legs.

all one evenings work!

i am thinking outside the box !

i did the baking foil on a wooden tube cover for a small hexi tank and it worked well.had it fixed to two support legs that slid snugg around the sides of the tank.
