I only say bin the fluval because of the number of my fish fluval design has killed as well as flooding my lounge.

They jam after power cuts generally difficult to restart and go wrong frequently needing replacement parts.

Yes eheims have a lower flow rate but they have greater media capacity therefore can contain more bacteria and have a longer contact time with the media producing higher quality water after a single pass than a fluval.

My problem with fluvals is purely a reliability one I do not trust them on my tanks anymore and will only use one if it is backed up by an eheim or some other for of filtration.

Just my opinion though.

To get the shaft phone hagen and ask them for it they probably have about half a million in stock in preperation for all the busted shafts either that or they will hnave sold out.

My other problem with fluval is that when they discontinue a line they stop making spare parts or wind down production eheim never do this and you can still get parts for filters from the 60's!!!!!

Smile Impeller shaft

Hi telboy,
not sure if you still after your impeller shaft? but was reading some of the replies to your dilemma and had a thought, have you tried a model shop, ie r/c cars all that kinda stuff, they sell all sorts of plastic or metal bar that maybe suitable for your needs.
