The Java fern should fill in a lot of the gaps soon, it was filling a 10 gallon tank.

Just had a thought about that Java fern, I think I originally bought it on a piece of bogwood when I was 15 so that is about 14 years ago, what a bargain!

i'm having trouble getting my Java Fern to stay that green, i get a lot of brown patches despite all other plants thriving, i've even been on specialist plant forums about it, from the replies i've seen from others, about 50% of people have similar issues with their java fern, with the brown Java fern leaves still producing baby plants (which mine do). So overall my fern is growing and reproducing but i just cant quite get that green look.

Examined: tank lighting, temp and ferts routine, all is within the paramters for healthy Java Fern growth!

Whats the white 22.5mm PVC tubing? Is that your outlet?

Never had any trouble growing Java fern, I dont use CO2, additives, just normal mature water.
