I like your style pops.

I was actually thinking of something alot more cunning than that.

I was gonna bleach my recently acquired Zebra Danios, & let the kids loose on them with their turquoise crayons.

I cant keep neons as my water is to hot for them long term i been out today and neons are around the £1.25 mark or 6 for £7.00....

i had the wife treat me to 6 cardinals at £1.99 each or 6 for £9.99
lucky they still had 6

cardinals are hardier than neons and for the little extra they do live longer in my opinion.......the new 6 look great with my original 4 4 is not a shoal but 10 is )

My two local fish shops are very different in prices.

I can get 10 neons for £10.00 at one, or 10 for £5.00 at the other. There is maybe a couple of miles between them both!!!

Its the one species of cheap fish that I can't seem to keep alive.

Maybe I'll get a few stuffed & throw them in my tank. lol

In fact they work out bloody expensive for me.

I can spend a tenner on them & they last a week!

It would cost me £520 to keep 10 for a year!

Bloody expensive.

They have been weakened by intensive farming. Wild-caught or responsibly captive-bred neons are quite hardy. Same with Angels, Guppies, Rams, Dwarf Gouramis and many others.
