I will certainly consider them in August if this falls through (which I suspect that it may well do so)

You can get them with large nuchal humps "kok" from about 5"

As my tank is 4` x 12" x 15" the reason behind why I was looking for something smaller

The large one that you found is spectacular but it would not be fair for it in my tank

Please do not think I thought you was being picky.

As you say it is your money and I think it is admirable that you can give it a forever home.

The only Flowerhorns I have seen with the "Big Humps" have been quite large.

You may want to try a different approach to finding your FH.

There are several Discus importers that deal with Asian market, and frequently come across these fish as they are indeed status symbols out there.

There is Grenville Hammond of Devon Discus

Chris of Plymouth Discus

Francis of Chen Discus and so on.

You stick to your guns tracy, and hold out for exactly what you want . and if its sentimental to want to give a fish a home for life, then I think you can book us all down for that , lol every species of fish have different ways and every fish of the same species displays different emotions at different times , eg you can tell when they are content -happy- distressed - ill- nasty pasties - and darn right indifferent to you ,etc and some of them are absolute stars

, so any one who says that fish are not as important as animals should not be allowed to keep them

I have only been to that shop once and thought that most of their stock, esp marines, was overpriced but anyways....

I agree with the others though in saying you should hold out for the fish that you want no matter how long it takes instead of just saying 'Oh, that one will do' because 'sods law' the one that you want will probably turn up somewhere a week later or something.

Thats why a lot of people when importing/ordering fish from elsewhere prefer to go and hand pick them themselves instead of ordering a fish that they haven't seen and it turns out to be not what you were expecting.

I just hope the FH this guy is meant to be getting you turns out to be exactly what you are after, especially after being made to wait this long!
