the tank was fully cycled and i had plans to stock it this weekend!

this weekend was meant to be hood building time but now its going to be drain and dry, piss and play time!

i know it's all worth it in the end (always is)

but for once if somethnig would just go plain sailing, i'd get on my knees and praise the lord!

as long as you drop enough water out to allow for that strip to come close to the glass, and use the stuff I said ,you have not got to dry anything ,this stuff is non toxic and even dries underwater, put the water you take out into containers and refill afterwards , as you take the water out you will see it coming tgether and it should be fine at about halfway .

i disagree, i think you could have it 50-75% full of water and then still sort the brace out as you go.

you have't answered my PM about front or back of tank, as then we might be able to work out if its been like this all this time or its a new development.

obviously to be completely safe you will drain it, but if its been like that all this time i had the tank, it's the same philosophy as not crossing the road in case you get hit by a bus!

I still say fix / work on the brace though

its come away at the back of the tank alex (the side without scratches)
im sure it was ok when i got it off you, which makes me worry even more cos its not so much that the supports broken, cos it was flimsy anyway, but for it to snap must mean to much pressure etc.

i could go down granddads root, but im thinking i may as well get some glass supports on it, i'd rather do it properly once and then never ever again ?

either way grandad, i'll order some fo that gear u mentioned, sounds like good stuff

old grandad did mention glass as well you know, lol either way you get loads in the packet, so you should be fine and to make it dry even faster you warm it up a bit in the microwave.

ok, yeh i think it's best to assume it happened in transit or once it was at yours. Thinking about it now, i am sure i would have noticed if it was at the front of tank (front as i had it, without scratches)

Perhaps it happened in the car, hence no broken plastic bit has been found?

I have heard of this happening with juwel tanks the strut is attached to a plastic rim that goes around the top of the tank and can be replaced contact juwel and they should be able to send a replacement that should just clip on to the top of the tank.

Don't bother mucking about with adding glass struts until you have spoken to juwel I have heard that sometimes they will just dish out a feee tank even if it is outside the gaurantee.
