(this is how i understand it to be)

I think its a case where in the wilde In Asia they grow 12"+ and i believe they are eaten as a food sorce in some parts.
in tank conditions if you put them in a indoor swimming pool sized tank and fed them to the max then you would get bigger fish.

it does seam odd that they are not ment to get to breeding size untill they are something like 7 +years.( or is this something rubbish i have just read online?)
most fish being somewhat simple in reproduction are very young spawners.....

i have had my one fish 5 years and hes gon from 2inches to 5 inches and now hes bigger boy can he pack the beefheart away! he would be able to eat 2 bloodworm choco blocks at every feed if i let him.......

is it not a case of given the right feeding/waterconditions and aquarium we could get big young fish ?
