Default calcium

hiya chaps,
sure you can give me some good advice i just checked my calcium levels which are reading 410 which i am told is a little low, i have some calcium granuals donated by my old buddy telboy but not sure how to add and how much to add any ideas lol

if you are talking marine, natural seawater contains between 400and425 ppm so you are not that low, if you want to raise it a little more mix 1 teaspoon of the granuals in a half pint glass full of ro water add to the tank and retest tommorrow.

hi grandad,
yup am talking marine lol thanks for ya help really appreciated. by the way any idea how to get ya anemone to stay in 1 place lol moves around more than a international moving company lol does not like being on top of rocks allways goes to bottom of the tank then explores from there i am not running halides just 4 x t5s then moon light for 1 hour then low moonlight lights through the night

I just let mine roam, cant be bothered to chase him round the tank everyday and put him back ,lol I am also running 4 t5s and marine blues and moonlights on my system

Your Calcium isn't too low. Ours is kept at around 450 and just raised when needed but it does stay very stable.

For your anemone, it will find somewhere it likes and stay put. As long as it gets everything it needs it will eventually stick to one place. A fellow reefer we get SPS frags from has a enourmous anemone, no joke it is over a 1ft wide, infact, probably bigger. He said it hasn't moved for around 15mths. But if it were to It would sting everything to pieces and totally wreck his tank. Its tentacles are around 7 or 8". Biggest one i've seen.

lol stop bragging slash lol have you chaps any good contacts to get some frags from the frags i am taking out of my tank are doing really well but could do with some variety lol unless anyone feeling generouse and wanna send me 1 or 2 frags lol
