Default Few pic's from the garden

Few pic's from the garden pond, built it with my brother, came out alright but in hind site a lot of things I would have liked to do differently, like a tap at the base to let out water etc ...

Mainly koi's, orfes and a couple of sturgeons. Water looks a bit merky, but this was taken during the winter when the pump isn't running.

Pete

Nice one Alex, I use koi sticks, koi pellets, sinking sturgeon pellets and a bit of bread now and again. I don't feed it all at once, vary it every few days. They don't get fed at all through the winter though..

Hopefully when you come it'll be a bit warmer so we can sit out there with a few beers hehe

yep sounds good, my son likes ponds and Koi etc, i once delivered a tank to an elderly chap that had built his own pond years back, he had £1000's worth of Koi (probably £10,000's) that my boy was stroking and feeding slices of bread too! Fantastic it was!

I'll get some photos of my dads pond up, he's got loads of Japanese Koi, worth a small fortune.
Some of the bigger ones try to eat fingers, feels pretty strange.

Nice pond Peter!

we fitted a kitchen for a guy that imports his Koi direct from the japan fish farms.he told us that he goes out there and chooses his fish pays for them and then pays them to lookafter it for another year or two! the rate that they grow at on their farms means he gets a much bigger fish for his £.......

he had what looked like a raised heated swimming pool !!!

funny thing was he asked me what fish i liked in his pond and believe it or not out of 20+ fish i chose his oldest fish ..........freakey or what!

he sells them but i never asked how much?

Cheers lads

Yeah koi cost a bomb, all my big one's were bought as tiny little 3-4"ers (had some over 8-10 years) so got some biggish one's now. But yeah been to koi farms where they want over 600 quid a fish, that's just madness to me!

I'd love to have a few more fish in their that were native to the UK but think the koi wouldn't get on with them so well.

One day though the dream is a pike pond
