There was an article in PFK back in 2001 featuring Arthur Marshall. He reckoned that if you only have room for one fish it should be a shubunkin.

I am not on the mainland so postage would be my only option.

Just out of curiosity, are there any breeders getting rid of surplus London shubunkins?

The London Shubunkin is not as widely bred in the UK as say the Bristol Shunkin, garden centres and fish stores commonly stock Far Eastern Comets, I am off to a show next weekend and will try to source some good quality London Subunkins. If I am successful I will let you know through this thread next weekend.

Default London Shubunkins

A quick update, I got talking to two of the London shubunkin breeders at the North East Show, they both have a couple of spawnings of Londons at the moment they are only 6-8 weeks old, a bit young yet but I have first choice on some of the youngsters, I will get the best that they will let go within the next month and the fish will be made available to people interested. (Terry, I will get a couple of pairs down to you as promised).

I did OK at the show winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th up against the best breeders of fancy goldfish in the country I was well pleased and had a great laugh in the car with a couple of mates I had taken up on the 3 1/2 hour car drive, the banter on the way up was great but on the way back I had the biggest smile on my face. My two mates are probably the best breeders of Bristol Shubunkins in the country with over 90 years experience between them and at the moment they hate me!!! 2 shows down and I am holding top spot between us, 3 shows to go and I am hoping for more success at these shows and even more banter.
