I got a couple of these 2224 Eheim filters.

They are pretty reliable & do the job.

I do have a few niggles though.

Firstly, once you take it apart, clean it out & put it together, getting the water flowiing through properly & all the trapped air out isn't exactly the quickest job. Seem to end up holding the filter on an agle for at least 10 minutes then slowly trying to get the filter to its upright position.

This could be me doing it wrong though.

Secondly, there are a few diferent types of the 2224 floating about.
I have 2, they look the same, but one has a built in heater element in the bottom, which is really cool as it means I got less wires going in the top of my tank. I'd go for that one.
