You had one that lived for 20 years? Wow!

over 20 years , could never keep females with him though , he would always kill them . he went in many of my tanks ,always caught him by the tail ( as I did all my plecs and catfish) as they would always have to be cut out of the net. When I first had them they ruined many a good net, so I perfected catching them with my index finger and my thumb , took a bit of doing to but soon perfected it lol.I remember once I caught all the fish out of one tank and put them in another( forgot all about him ) put my bog wood and bark in buckets filled them with tank water and put them out the back (it was a freezing day ) stripped the tank down and took it down to the shed , right I thought time for the bog wood, gave the bog wood a clean ,and started on the thick bark, as I picked up the bark I could see him wedged in the other side he was stiff as a board and freezing cold , I was gutted , but always the optimist I took him to his new tank and held him in my hands for what seemed like hours but could only have been a couple of minutes in reality and he started to move, I kept hold of him until he swam to the bottom of the tank and went under some bog wood . Next day there he was eating his peeled potato as if nothing had happened , and he lived for many more years ( this is why I always say that where there's life there's hope .
