ha ha
there is a good chance they will just be traditional blue/black convict look a-likes which would be disapponting, i am waiting for some feedback from a dude who breeds loads of hybrids South American and Central American fish.
But, from the pics, they dont look like normal convict fry, but then again, that might just be the camera making them look funky!

Well i've only ever owned the one Sajica that i have now. She's fine. Initially she looked like she was trying to "shoal" with the Rainbows, but it was more taking the p*ss i think and a little bit of trying to intimidate the Rainbows, but she's settled down now and keeps herself to herself. The female Jellybean has a major narc with her though as she's a potential husband stealer on the male Jellybean (they will cross breed)
The one beauty about this Sajica i have (as you may have seen from the pics) she has lovely colouration even though she has no partner or male interest. Maybe this is the same for all female Sajica's, not sure
I would say its the same old (Convict-type fish) Story Von, fine when not breeding and a potential handful if breeding.
I've had Jade-Eye's breed before in a mixed tank (very similar fish to Sajica) and they were a nightmare, as bad as any Convict pair i've had!

I was hoping to put them in my community tank as they are small at the moment, i might try them and move them to their own tank if they misbehave, my convicts drove me nuts they would attack teh algae magnet which was quite funny, even if it wasn't moving!

i have missed this aspect of fish-keeping over the past few months (paternal care of the eggs/fry).
The female Jellybean is not allowing the male near the pot (i used to see this every now and then with Convict pairs), as the eggs are turning into wrigglers, he's still defending the immediate area from all other's, but he can't get near the eggs because Madam is doing a load of gill flaring at him LOL
It's a great sight and its all happening right at the front part of the tank, i wish i could work out how to take video clips on my digi cam? Have never done that before.

They have been held for the last 10 days in a tiny little plastic tank that holds about 10 litres of water!
Here's what the set-up looks like (I took the pics after i emptied tank and syphoned out all the cr*p, which i do every 2-3 days)

They do look cheeky dont they.
I have no where really for them to go, so am toying with the idea of quite a gamble really, in a few weeks i might let a few out into my planted community (guppy's, tetra's, corydoras etc). If the Convict Hybrids start causing grief atleast it wont be for a few months, and by then i will probably have another re-scape fo the community tank anyway and be able to catch them and remove them.
I want to see how the fry come out, safest best would be to put only one in the community tank (and therefore it cant breed and get aggro) but just leaving myself with one means if something happens to it, thats it, nothing left!
