Smile Sexing Midas

Hello all. How do you tell the difference between male and female Midas. I have 2 Midas left one, I sold as a female, as her head was flater than his. But her new owners say that she is a male.So does that make my other one a female. I am bothered and bewildered and could do with some advice. I thank you in anticipation. Bethan

hello bethan hows things? easiest way is to wait till they're mature, the male develops a naucheal hump...also size, the males are more stockier than females, lastly the fins on males are slightly longer

Thanks Telboy thats what I thought. Things here are not good I have had my fish house broken into 6 times in the last month so I am busy putting as many tanks in my home till a big shed is built by my home. My garages are quite a way from my home. I think that its kids stealing to order. Getting fed up with it though. They killed 2 of my turtles as well as stealing fish. Oh well Just ignore me I hate loosing my turtles and my fish as I have had some of them for years. Thanks for your reply appreciated Bethan

Hi Osker no Myrtle is fine she is in the house now as are the Oscars which have had eggs twice and then eaten them. I think the Pacus in the ajoining tank put them off which is why I moved them and with the breakings I did not want to lose them. I am moving as many as possible to the house. Nice to hear from you again. Bethan
