I had a bowfront do that and the glass bowed about an inch and the lid kept falling inside the tank and this was glass strutts that came away.

Just take out half the water if poss to take some pressure off the glass and Jewel will usually send you a replacement if you tell them whats happened. If the tanks still under gurantee they may replace your tank.

Other then that it may be a case of when getting a new bracing bar just emptying the tank and siliconing it on. Although dont Jewel ones slot in or something?
