water changes are fine, i would suggest no more than 30% at a time

I`ve put plants in, which seem to be doing well at the mo, but too much nitrate will make them go all brown and disgusting wont it? and encourage more algae, or is this just part of the process?
I am not sure to be honest, there's arguments for and against having plants in during cycling i think (i dont know the arguments!) either way, i dont think its a big deal
