so it's only been 9 full days, well, just think, some peeps wait less than 5 mins, they buy a tank, full it water, fill it fish.....poor fish, have to live with ammonia and nitrite for weeks, those that dont die will be stressed and disease prone and (according to stuff i read) possibly hamred for life, especially their gills from the constant ammonia poisoning.

i guess what i am saying your tank might not be ready, the readongs do confuse somewhat, but there has definitely been some culturing of bacteria, i think it would not be that far fetched for you to do a 75% water change with conditioned tap water, and add a few fish......

PS: nitrite can come down fast if your filters are mature, your may well be mature? not sure. They wont be fully mature thats for sure.

I had my filters off by accident one night, nitrite in the morning was about 0.50 and then after filters back on, nitrite was 0.0 within a few hours
