I know grandad was asking after the fry! and a few others will be curious.

well at the moment i have 4 left 3 of whom look nice and light and healthy with one looking very dark/black,not much hope for the little one. im sure all the fish are smaller than they should be ! we live and learn from our experience and hopefully dont make the same mistakes secong time around!

DING! DING!
NOW im not ready for a second round my holiday is only few weeks away .However my RANDY PAIR ARE! they layed 50-60 nice orange eggs all over one end of the tank tonight! think the big waterchange and tank scrub down on monday triggered this

anyone want some discus egg? £12 a dozen

nice to know you still have some survivors , also mom dad and you, are now a lot more experienced and hopefully their survival rate will rise significantly on future spawnings .( ps thanks for sharing )

came home tonight to find 50 % of the eggs white and only the largest baby hiding behind the filter ....so i have one out of just over 20

im to blame as i should have removed them earlyer i pushed it a little bit to much!
i couldnt care less about this new batch as i know i will be away towards the end of the month for 2 weeks . then all being well i will be more able to do it more professionaly .......to have got this far in less than a year makes me well confident that i can keep discus healthy ,so healthy that they breed ! must be doing something right haha!.

im only 35 so have a few years in me lol! hey who said discus was a old mans hobby !

I do, and you're proving it
You've certainly done well, within the next year you should've raised a few batches of fry.

Rob sorry to hear about the losses.

You did well to get this far mate, won't be long till you get it spot on.

Sooner you master the discus breeding sooner I can give up the evening job

Remember the large fella with attitude out of the fry (the biggest one).........well he is still with me !

WE STILL HAVE LIFE!.......one out of just over 20

parents are laying weekly they are on their second this week.No atempt is being made to save the eggs&fry as i cant give them the time and effort as i will be away when they should be comeing off their parents.
in 5 to 7 weeks if they are still laying then i will pull out all the stops and this time remove the fry around day 10-15 or as soon as they are feeding by themself.
i have this thread to look back on to cross check their progress.

Thanks for asking.........but u should lay off the pills

you know what these youngsters are like Rob. They mix their prescription drugs with their diamond white cider so that when they watch their fish, it's all multi coloured and trippy colours
