my ten year old son saw this thread yesterday and has fallen in love with your babies!!. every hour he's checking for updates. I think we have a future Discuss keeper lol.

while inspecting the fish tonight i noticed the female pecking the side of the tank( maybe cleaning a spawning site?)
went to get the camera to do the daily video clip ....well i took 2 short vids tonight one straight after the other! see for yourself




and then to the other end of the tank!




see the row of 5 eggs

this could have went 3 ways i have been informed!

1 they could eat the 9 day old babys and try to raise a bigger brood of fry!
2 they could eat the eggs and keep the 9 day old's
3 they could try raising both lots eggs and fry(depends on the parents)

the male missed the first five eggs and 3 minutes later they had been eaten.then for quite some time the female would pass over the tank side ( not laying) and the male would also pass some distance away doing his job!

im relaxed in the fact that the eggs are now eaten and they can carry on with their fry for a bit longer.

I was gob smacked grandad it was like she said "Right get this on camera!!!

swam real fast across the tankk and did the pass!.......male to slow to get in on the acting lol

I think because i nursed the male back from near death hes real tame, and she has became more tame by being with him! its not difficult taking the photos .....the fish almost pose when i get the camera

the babys are starting to hunt away from mum/dad and i think i seen some taking the decapsulated brineshrimp i put in for them.
