The "old" forum

Dear Webmaster

Are we still looking at some time in March for the full handover to the new forum?

I take it you will close the old one down at some point?

Will the url address be the same for the new forum, so peeps get automatically transfered over to here?

Or are you seeing it as an ideal time to get rid of some "dead wood" so to speak?

I am aiming for the end of this month or earlier to move to this forum.

there will not be an automatic redirect, but the threads on the 'old' forum will be closed from further comments and new threads (with a link pointing over to the new forum) and the website navigation links will point to the new forum instead.

As you say, the dead wood will in effect by archived.

is there anyway you could get a list of members who have posted in say the last 6 months, and send out a block/standard email to invite them over to here webbie???

I'll be sorry to see the old forum go. We had some good threads in there. Webmaster should be commended for keeping us motley crew in order in the old forum.
Still onwards and upwards with the new forum.

the old forum will not be deleted, it will still remain in archive status and as a reference area.

Thats great news webbie, it'd be stupid to delete it - the amount of information on there is unbelievable!

Brilliant work on this new forum too, seems to have picked up quickly and I actually think it works better than the old forum, god bless it's soul.
