Fishing (the sport/pastime) Shops

Fancy that, the best forum for this was NFR, Not Fish Related

A friend of mine is after buying her dad some gear for fishing, i don't exactly know what yet, she's going to get back to me.

Question being, does anyone know of any decent fishing shops in the North London region, i am specifically thinking these types of area

-wood green
-edmonton ( i think there is one there, is it any good?)
-finchley
-barnet
-enfield
-possibly, Mill Hill area

I will probably be running her down there in my mum & dads car (as they are on holiday lol), so i dont fancy anything too far East, West or South (London)

There's a great tackle shop in Bushey (just before Watford)

However... Fishing gear is more expensive then you might think. Yes it lasts a long time so overall it's good value for money whatever you spend, but when your starting out and buying all your kit it soon mounts up.

If I were you I'd look out in local newpaper ads or on ebay or another good one is local boot fairs and that sort of thing.

Look for someone who's bought all the kit and lost interest etc. Try and buy a guys whole collection. Then you'll get not just the rods and reel, but all the other odds and sods, landing net, keep net, floats, weights, and all the other cool bits.

theres a shop in friern barnet lex,from yours,north circ towards the big tescos,come off the tescos jct,turn right at the lights,straight on past tescos on ya left,keep going till ya come to frien barnet rd,youll come to traffic lights in front of you will be the orange tree pub, turn left, 200 yds youll come to a small r/bout, the shop is to the left of the r/bout...should take ya bout 10-15 mins from yours on a good day
