27 New Tarantulas (Pix!)
Hi all!
I woke up yesterday morning to a lovely suprise from my boyfriend, was it flowers, chocolates? Nope..a box full of T's!! Three boxes in fact! (The best kinda man!!) He managed to get every species that I currently wanted, without my knowing, and more, from Lee at the spidershop! I got my first Baboon Tarantula (or first 17!!) and all but one was very well behaved! No threat postures, but very fast. I got my first Aphonopelma species, which I've been desperate for!!
So without further ado, here are the pictures!!
Aphonopelma hentzi (Texas Brown Tarantula)

Aphonopelma sp."New River" (New River Rust Rump Tarantula)

Aphonopelma sp."Flagstaff" (Flagstaff Orange Tarantula)

Aphonopelma sp."Payonsi" (Payson Blonde Tarantula)

Aphonopelma sp."Blue" (Guatamalan Blue Tarantula)

Pterinochilus lugardi (Fort Hall Baboon Tarantula)

Eucratoscelus pachypus (Stout Leg Baboon Tarantula)

Aphonopelma iodius (Salt Lake Brown Tarantula)

Ceratogyrus marshalli (Straight Horned Baboon Tarantula) x10!!

Ceratogyrus darlingi (Eastern Horned Baboon Tarantula) x5!

So I've had a very eventful day, all the spiders arrived healthy, and pretty laid back. Except for one C.marshalli sling that made a break for it and threw himself on his back in threat posture (the one in the picture). He's since had a bean weevil and is snugged up ready for bed They're all little darlings, with the Aphonopelma sp."Flagstaff"'s being the most docile, like puppies they is! Very pleased with my order, and have 4 P. ornatas coming next week!

He does indeed
Yeah you can breed them, but you have to be very careful and patient with it all. Sometimes the females eat the males if they don't get away quick enough, but thats just the way it goes, and you do have to be prepared to lose your male before u breed them. Some say its excellent nutrition for the young I haven't bred any of mine yet, as none are ready, but maybe one day..
