frog looking thingys?
hey people
my friend was after a frog to keep, i know nothing about keeping this sort of pet
i've seen things advertised on AC like frogs, but aquatic, they had an X in there name.
Any ideas what the full name could be?
Thanks in advance

He can collect poison tree frogs, in the wild they eat a certain beetle that contains their poison therefore in captivity they loose out on this bug and theyre poison. pretty easy to keep i think, i have only seen them in one fish store near me. But im sure he could find them on the net somewhere.
Good luck dude!

Xenopus laevis, the African clawed frog? They are fully aquatic.

Haha sorry pete i tottally misread your post! axolotls are the ****, they eat smaller fish though. theres also a non albino species about. but for some strange reason they are rarer.
Axolotl's should cost you about 20 buckers. if they overcharge, just come to this site and get some young for cheap.

Aslong as you don't keep them with other fish and keep them with the same size axelotl they'll be fine. Plenty of information on them if you Google them.
If I had the tank space I'd probably have some.
