Default my ADFs went crazy

We've bought 2 adfs last summer and they turned out to be male and female at the end. Which was quite fascinating as they kept "hugging" but female never used to make it to the surface and as a result covering wood and all the decorations with eggs that couldn't be scrubbed off even if you want to! However recently they've learnt how to do it properly onthe surface and now for the last week or so they went absolutely crazy and male keeps singing all night (really loudly - you can hear him in different room!) and then all day they "hugging" and sprinkling eggs all over. I thought that they allwill get sucked by filter BUT a lot of them aren't and now I've got a lot of adf tadpoles swiming in my tank! I pulled about 5 outand put them in the glass about 4 days ago. they all seem to be happy (the ones in the glass and those swimming in the tank) Has anyone had any experience with ADF tadpoles? how soon will they grow bigenough to be put in the nursery? Also frogs still continuing producing new eggs non stop nearly every day and I'm thinkingof putting my betta in the tank with them (there's also 2 bristlenoses in there as well). Will bettaeat up the eggs?

Here's the picture of this super breeding pair from few months ago. Male is slimmer one -his name is Ribbet, and female is called Froogle

Question

I just found this really cool site about african dwarf frogs development etc http://www.flippersandfins.net/ADFBr...ticle.htm#eggs and they look kind of like the ones on a picture at 7days old. Also I've noticed it says that you have to feed them like 3 times a day I'm not feeding them at all! Maybe I should put the ones in the glass back to the tank as there might be some kind of food leftover source in there? But won't they get eaten in there or sucked by filter? Any ideas what I should feed adf tadpoles with? They are sooo tiny I don't know what could they eat!

Well done on breeding them! Doesn't happen too much unintentionally.

Anything will eat these frogs eggs...so best to leave them to it. Also I would give the poor female a break tbh. Usually its best to have a couple of females to one male to ease the stress off of one female. Producing eggs much less laying them takes a huge toll on the body whatever animal, she will need a break from constant breeding. Male frogs in particular of any species absolutely pester females and can cause the female a lot of stress.

Feeding wise crushed up fish flakes will be fine. Daphnia and brine shrimp as even if the taddies can't swallow them whole they will all 'chew' on them together. As they grow larger a good pelleted food would be good. Again you will find all the taddies sorrounding the pellets and 'chewing' them. Hope this helps. Be careful to avoid over feeding though, tadpoles really don't take in much food!

Also, you will probably find that leaving the taddies in the tank will get eaten by the parents. What are you feeding mum and dad? Mum will need some good nutritious food at this time so bloodworm, daphnia and brine shrimp will be great for her. I also gave the odd pinhead cricket which really boosts nutrition intake for them

Thanks for the info! The tadpoles I've moved into a glass seem to have died all apart from 1 I've done 100% water change in his glass 2 days ago and he seems to be happy. As for the tadpoles in the tank - those seem to be doing fine. Some probably got eaten but still plenty around. At the moment parents are only on frozen food (bloodworms - the favourite, daphnia, brine shrimp) and tadpoles in the tank probably getting some of these as well. Cricket sounds interesting - does it sink or did you have to attach it to something in the tank?
