260 Litre Aquarium on the first floor
Can anyone help me with this issue, I've just moved and the only room for my 260 litre aquarium is in a room on the first floor. The total weight without livestock is about 300kg. Has anyone ever had a tank this large and heavy in a first floor room. Comments would be appreciated.
Cheers
Andy

I have had a lot heavier than that in my bedrooms ,with no trouble at all.as long as your joists, and floorboards, are fine you should be ok

Hi Andy
I can't give an exact answer, but just wanted to point out that 300kg is not that much weight, i mean thats basically x4 average build people.
If x4 people stood all next to each other on your 1st floor and stood there for a year or more (funny i know, but use the example!) would you worry about them falling through the floor?
I think you are right to ask, no point worrying about it, you obviously want some peace of mind.
Are peeps with me in this, in thinking 300kg is not an issue?

Thats huuuuge!
The floor will be fine, try and have it over as many joist as possible so the weight is well distributed.
