Default Dividers

Anyone any ideas for home made tank dividers?
I have Just had an idea for one that i thought i would share with you all so what do you think?
From my local hobby shop i bought some of the plastic sheets used for cross stitching they have small square holes to allow for water flow.
I originally wanted something more rigid and thought of the kids peg boards but they all seem to be reversed now with the pins being on the board and NOT on the pins they are now small circles which fit over the pins on the boards so no luck there,
They did have the old fashioned type pin board sets in but they are £9.99 for a small 6" square board so would be expensive.
Anyway to firm up the stuff i had i have decided to use either the flatbar file binders or the click binding rings which have small spikes on them to hopefully go through the holes on the sheets and hold it all together
I am off to buy some now and will let you know how it works out.
Another idea is to use the bases you find in lego sets which as you know ARE rigid
Drill out all the raised parts and again hey presto.
Im sure lego did a base with holes in anyway

F151-1,

Nick had this idea a few weeks ago.

Dividing a tank...

The quickest and cheapest divider that I have ever used can be done for less than a pound.

Get yourself down to a good craft store (Hobby Craft stores up near me do the stuff), head for the cross stitch section and somewhere round there is some plastic sheeting which looks like the stuff people cross stitch in to but with slightly larger holes and made out of plastic obviously. The sheets are about a foot square, can be glued or stitched together and you can slide plastic doccument slides on to all four sides to make it rigid once cut to size, or simply put it in and let it be larger than the width of the tank and the pressure from the bending of the sheet should keep it in place (with suction cups anchoring the top/bottom if you so wish).

All for less than a quid, dependant on tank size

good idea all the same !
