lol,
so we looking at about 1700 litres, wow! aka 373 UK-G and 450 US-G
110-120" fish at the moment as they are, it looks a lot, but from the numbers it's really not, i mean whats going to get the biggest there, probably the Ornates? I know Silver Sharks can get over 16-18" but i am not sure how usual this is in home aquaria?
So, it sounds like you doing a 30% w/c every 3-4 weeks, does that sound about right?
You might want to up to water changes to 2-weekly if you add fish? I up your water change's from 3-4 weeks anyway mate, thats my opinion, but it might be working for you fine as it is.
I am not experienced with big tanks to be honest, the 5x2x2 i am about to set-up will be biggest ever.
Your filtration sounds okay at the minute with the stock, but i always wonder about the FX5 as although they are powerful they have quite a small volume of media actually for such an expensive filter (i think its 6 litres of media volume), compare that to 25 litres of some of the expensive Eheims!!! Maybe a few £ more than an FX5 but not that much
I might be talking out of my rear end, but i would just worry about having just the two FX 5's on there (bio media wise, i know you have the powerhead) if you added more fish, i know that sounds silly as they are £125 to £150 filters each?
I'll have to pass on the FX5 issue, maybe someone else with bigger tanks can comment on them? I know Telboy has one on his 6x2x2 and its fine, but the difference between a 6x2x2 and 7x3x3 is about 1000 litres of water!
In answer to your question LOL, YES i think you can add more fish, i bet it doesnt look busy at all at the moment with 1700 litres of water?
Depends how you want it to look i guess in terms of "busy"
