HI i am about to take my baby mollies and platys out of my main tank and put them into a small tank do i need to put a filter in the tank as well as a heater please help.

simple answer is YES try a air driven sponge filter quite cheap, and sposed to be ideal for fry

The air driven ones are so simple and easy to use! They take a bout 4 weeks from new to get fully efective,To keep them clean just sqweeze them in tank water! what i do is syphon the phoo/muck off the tank bottom into a bucket ,let this settle for 5 10 minutes and then sqweeze your filter.( never run them under the tap!)
