absolutley no though of the suffering of the millions of fish that have to endure this inhumane treatment ( a plastic bag at the fair and a totally inadequate goldfish bowl for the rest of thier pityfully short life .

The fact is people can't relate to a goodfish as an animal in the same way they can with small furry pets. The fact longterm a goldfish needs more room, will be more expensive and lives longer than say a hamster doesn't matter. It's small and cheap, it doesn't matter if it suffers.

every living animal bred for food deserves to live in an environment that is at least adequate for them and not the filth and sqaulor a lot of them find themselves in eg battery hens etc , there is not much help for them so what chance has a poor old goldfish got .

I was always pretty happy with candy floss and a toffee apple

it's very sad to think the majority of fish who are "won" get thrown into bowls with no filtration and die

what a waste of fish.

Sad but true but winning a goldfish at a fair (yes it was kept in a bowl) started me on this hobby, which I have enjoyed, and cried over many times over the past 50+ years.
I fully agree that fish as prizes should be totally outlawed, surely one of the unelected, faceles morons in Brussels must have brought in legislation by now.

I remember about 6-7 years ago at some fair the 'pikeys' had thousands of goldfish in a wheelie bin to be won as prizes.
then at the end of the 3 days of the fair i witnessed them just tip the wheelie bin into the park pond where the fair was being held, there must have been at least 50 fish released into the pond with no regard for the fish or the local wildlife.
i still visit the park and some of the fish have survived to this day they are now 12" +
but you should have heard the abuse i got from said 'pikieys' when i tried to intervene twats
