Hi I need some advice...
Hi Guys, I need a bit of advice please.
I set up my first tank a couple of weeks ago, AR620 90l, I put in 10 Golden Barbs to start with and have added 2 angel fish, 2 mollies and 2 small albino fish that graze the bottom ( i got them today and can't remember their name!). As i'm brand new to this, the shop have been quite helpful, but tonight, one of the angel fish keeps slowly spinning backwards. Is he ok or is this an indication he's not so good? Also, one of the mollies is pooing loads and its all over the tank??? Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks.

You may have problems with your water quality. Thats a lot of fish to put into a tank only a few weeks old, big bioload. You should always introduce fish slowly i.e a few a week. Your filter may not be able to cope with all the waste i.e pooing, your fish are producing which in turn will pollute the water with ammonia. Filters take a while to develop the bacteria to cope with the ammonia being produced. You filter will still be developing and all them fish at once is too much at the moment to cope with.
Your fish shop should of advised you not to put that many fish in such a new tank.
I hope that makes sense to you.

i agree with slash youve added the fish far too early did ya fish shop tell you this would be ok? if so dont go there again... what filter do you have? also you say the angel "is spinning backwards" do you have a powerhead that the fish maybe getting stuck in its flow? if not sounds like the fish has suc***bed to new tank syndrome ie been poisoned by excessive ammonia, nitrites etc...test ya water see what that showsby the way, angels dont stay cute little fishie wishies for long, when full grown their body alone is appx the size of a side plate so not suitable for such a small tank

Thanks for that and yeah, it makes sense. Someone has just told me to maybe take the angel fish back as they are too large for this setup anyway and will out grow the tank and to also buy a water testing kit. The shop hasn't really been very helpful at all and i might tell them so tom!! especially if any fish die tonight - i feel sorry for them all now!
They are albino corydoras by the way!

With that can I add they should not of advised putting Angels and Gold Barbs together as Barbs are fin nippers and may rip up the Angels fins.
I work in the fish section of a shop and the number of people who bring back Angels with ripped fins because they put them in with Barbs is silly.
Naughty fish shop it would seem! It wasn't a Pets@Home store was it???

The shop knew full well!
The filter came as part of the tank, its got 2 sections with ceramic 'things' (sorry!), sponge and carbon sponge.
The fish is not getting stuck in the flow, its happening at the other side.
I sound really naive i know, but best to ask now and save the fish from any more trauma, the shop obviously just want my money!
