General Tropical FishThis section of the forum is to discuss general freshwater tropical fishkeeping. Some of the most beautiful aquariums are with mixed tropicals.
Hi all, if anyone knows if this is a good enough specific gravity meter for reading my brackish water, or if not where can i get a cheap one online. thanks
You would be better off with a refractometer this is a far more accurate way of obtaining the sg of water especially if you are after getting a very specific sg.
Hydrometers are sensitive to temperature variance and equal in my experience they give grossly inaccurate readings.
if youve never calibrated it, then how do you know its giving a correct reading alan? tis the same as a ph pen etc, dont calibrate em then readings will be wrong
