My new addition.
Today i collected a new fish tank(54" long, 30" high and 18" deep) with 2 externals and a pike cichlid (Crenicichla johanna 12") from a nice chap for a nice price.
he was in the bucket for longer than i expected and i recently got the tank stable for him to rejouvenate.
i will add a substrate of sand when i get payed and it will then be a nice home for my jungle vallis. hopefuly within the week i will provide a hood for the tank and have it looking very amazon.
I will arrange some pictures when i have time, any imputs would be great from anyone experienced with these fish.
Thanks

Thanks peeps, i have just been looking at him since hes perked up and i have noticed he has a bit of hole in head.
i have been doing some research on it but would prefer your first hand advice on the most effective approach to cure, from now on his tank water will be kept clean and his aquarium will be that of a healthy tank.
thanks for any contributions.

Best thing for hole in the head is metronidazole, an antibiotic. works on anarobic bacteria, much more effective than standard preps, i can't rememeber the dose but i'm sure its on the net somewhere if you have a look

Thanks george, it looks like the wounds are healing, they are not looking to bad, just small holes. if i keep up the good water quality is there any chance of it healing naturally? thanks boss

Is there anything coming out of the holes? it may just be scars, he will always have small holes now, for a while at least, don't think it ever heals completely.

That is possibly the situation.
Nothing is coming out of them, they are just small holes which dont go very deep. maybe you are right.
thanks
