personally Terry, i'd use this

http://www.plymouthdiscus.co.uk/prod...17c1eda9148011

I've used it before for internal parasite symptoms, i generally dose my community tank every 3-6 months with stuff routine actually, sooner if i notice any fish going "skinny"

Never had any fish deaths with it, even with up x10 dose being used.

It also kills snails, i can testify to this, you might need to add a second dose a few days or a week later to really hammer the snail population

I'd view it as a safer alternative than the anti-snail meds anyway (which are likely to contain copper)

It doesn't kill the snails overnight, seems to take a few days, up to a week maybe

The more you order of this stuff the cheaper it is, check it out.

Tel funny you should mention it, I've had an outbreak in my planted fry tank.

I'm not keen at all on medicating while the fry are so small.

But let me know how you get on shifting yours and I'll give my tank a few doses once the fish are moved.

I bloody hate snails

We have used the Esha in the top link, with fry too and it works ok, although you still have to remove the snails so they dont foul your tank up, alternate methods are a piece of cucumber in a jar and left overnight but you have to keep repeating this and it doesnt get rid of the eggs, best alternative......clown loach!

I've never used any meds for getting rid of snails, I used to keep Spotted Talking cat, and Humbug cat, they kept the snail populations down to almost nil.
