Default The best fish you've never had...

Ok we all keep certain fish depending on the tanks, budget etc we have available.

If there was one species you've always wanted but never been able to have either because you don't have a big enough tank or can't get hold of the fish or their too pricey etc..

What's the fish you want but have never had/been able to have?

I would love to have a bat fish (but I hate seeing them half in half out of the water because they are in a tank way to small for them at the local lfs,s.

I didn't know about either of those types of fish, having read up, they both look like great fish!

I'm pretty new to keeping trops, so there's a whole load of fish I don't know about.

But from what I've seen, I think black ghost knifes are amazing, just the way they move around, it just seems so un-natural yet so graceful.

My LFS have got them but there about 28 quid each for little one's, I don't likehaving just one of any species, so I'd want a shoal, and that's just too much cash at the moment.

Big fan of pea**** bass too, and whilst there cheap to get hold of, they just grow to bloody big!

For me, Vieja argentae and pearsii are the 2 species I'm really trying to get, got some very young pearsii coming up from Kent in August, but trying to find any of them up here is a nightmare, the argees in particular.

Vieja argentae's look cracking! Again another fish I've never seen/heard of before... I'm liking this thread, getting exposed to a lot of cool fish!

this is going to sound quite dull, i will come back to the thread later with more exciting idea's, but right now, if i had the space and cash, i would get myself a set-up of Oscars, let them all have it out and grab a pair out of it in the long run.
