Trouble at mill...
Guys,
The strut bar that runs from front to back at the middle of the tank.. Mine appears to have broken...It wasn't a glass one but a flimsy plastic thing
The tank is a good quality brand (RIO).
Currently the tank is full of water, how much trouble am I in?

took me ages to see that I was looking down into the tank lol , if I was you I would take some water out until the strap comes up tight to the tank again and re stick it with aqua scape or something similar , also you can strengthen the middle by attaching a strip of glass across.

LOL Grandad
the only picture that really needs to be there is the 3rd one (bottom one)
oh and yeh i'll second Tel on the Silicone idea, but then again there is no apparent "broken" bit of plastic is there? I mean to replace with?
what about cutting a bit of wood and then just sanding it down to exact size and siliconing?
The tanks not for show is it? do it doesnt matter if you go all left-field with it!
It's not the actual strength of the brace (otherwise Juwel would surely not make it out of flimsly thin plastic), it's just there to help prevent the glass from bowing,
The wood would have to be water-proof like that ply i had

The bit of plastic, is meant to be joined at both side of the tank (front and back). But it's come off at one end, so is now only attached to back of tank and hanging at other end.
Have taken another picture, hope this shows a bit better

I had a bowfront do that and the glass bowed about an inch and the lid kept falling inside the tank and this was glass strutts that came away.
Just take out half the water if poss to take some pressure off the glass and Jewel will usually send you a replacement if you tell them whats happened. If the tanks still under gurantee they may replace your tank.
Other then that it may be a case of when getting a new bracing bar just emptying the tank and siliconing it on. Although dont Jewel ones slot in or something?

thats what I finally figured out stick it back on, I said use aquascape becuase it is a lot stronger than silicone , and goes off a lot faster can be used underwater is non toxic if any falls in the tank Blah de bloody blah and so on and only cost about £3.50 nudge nudge
