Hi can anyone help me please I have just a frantic phone call from my partner saying that i should not have put my 3 female siamese fighting fish in with my 1 male as he will kill them can anyone advise me please.

If you have enough female fighters aggression from the male will not be enough to do serious damage. Heavily planting will make it better too. It's easier to keep them seperate unless you intend on breeding them.

when I had them years ago you were encouraged to get some females to keep the male happy . ( don't know if its changed now but my male and females got on marvelous )also I would have a nice piece of floating bark in there with just a trickle of water on it and the male would lie on that for hours.( out of the way of his henpecking wives lol).

i thought it was a case where you should not keep males together!
3 females should be ok as they have females together in all the shops around here...........the male may be agressive if he were to pair up and spawn with a female.


just watch their every move for a while

thats what I was always told

had 3 females in with a male for nearly 2 months now not had any problems upto now.

they always used to say, have three to stop the females squabbling amongst each other, for the males attention.( three cackling old hens is better than all out war with two females going head to head ) lol.

Yeah they should get on fine.

To be honest, if I was put in a room with 3 ladies, fighting would be the last thing on my mind!
