My fishes filter failed, the tank went all milky and Fishface (his adopted name aka Dave Rogers) went all floaty and 'can't be bothered'

He was clearly stressed, so I changed about 50% of his water. He went right to the bottom of the tank, and I bullied him back up and swimming with the net - he's a sulky bugger at the best of times. It did work, but subsequently I've had to change his water another couple of times in a few days. He's a happy fish now and eating again - dives up to the top of the tank when I take the lid off so he must be hungry, but he appears to have signs of Dropsy. He's not showing excessive bloating that I can tell, but it's hard to see with a Moor, they're all Mr Blobby to start with. His scales are prominent though, which I believe is an early sign of Dropsy.
Advice please?
