Default fish illness

I have an ill ryukin but have tried every single treatment to try and make it better. It has been ill for at least 3 months now and isn't showing any signs of improvement although it is still swimming around and eating as normal. It has part of its top fin eaten away and an open sore type hole on its back, I was told by an aquatics shop that this was either fin rot or a fungal disease so i tried most of the treatments available for fungus etc. Please can anyone give me some advice or tips on this?????

It is probably a bacterial infection, have you tried Melafix?

I have found Melafix very good for bacterial fin rot and skin infections in goldfish. It has a strong smell, a bit like Vicks, but don't be put off, it is meant to smell like that.

Yes as the others have said use an anti-bacterial treatment only.

Could we have some pics?
