Default Nannacara Anomala Spawning

Here's some photos of one of my female nannacara anomala guarding her eggs, layed either late last night or this morning. There is another female guarding eggs at the back of the tank but I can't get a good enough view to take a photo. I got these a week ago so they've settled in well. I'll try and get some decent photos of the male in the next few days.

Cheers Lex, I know I haven't been posting much recently - got a lot of work to for my exams.

Me too. I'm not sure how well the fry will do with a clown plec, endlers, splash tetras and a subordinate male in there, I've been doing some reading though and it says the female defends the eggs and fry very well, I can certainly agree with that so far.

WOW, great shots, love the way the females totally change pattern when brooding.

The females' patterning reminds me of Jaguar cichlids, I've never actually seen a jaguar cichlid in the flesh though so I could be a mile off.

There is actually a few fry at the back of the tank very small the female is guarding them well. I don't have much of hope for this first batch; firstly they're in a very hard place to get food to and secondly there isn't many of them so with the loses that always happen I might be left with one or two.

Great to have fish other than endlers breeding though, especially cichlids, they're great to watch.
