Angry white worms

help needed

purchased discus week ago and have laid eggs yesterday

tonite on clos inspection of tanks have noticed some small white worms on side of tank

never had problem before until after i added discus i take it that my discus need worming and do you recomend any treatments

will this treatment affect eggs

discus seem fine at mo but it is a cause for concern

Hi,they will be planaria which are harmless,they are usually a symptom of too much food,just wipe them away and make sure no uneaten food is left in the tank,I would not use any type of medication.

i take it i cut down on food for a few days and wipe tank on water changes albeit i may disturb spawning discus eggs are due yo hatch friday

could this be a problem

maybe i am overprotective but this is my first batch and dont want anything to go wrong

apart from overfeeding is there any otjer cause

my water parameters are fine

nitrite 0
ammonia 0
nitrate 12.5
ph 6.7

yes just reduce the food,if you are worried about spooking the Discus leave the worms they wont do any harm,and will gradually reduce,every tank will have a population of these.

yeh i have them also ......like you Del i never had them before i got my discus! or is it a case of we look so close at our fish paranoide to start with that we tend to notice them ?
