I would like to add some extra creatures to my aquarium, I know that in tropical set ups you can add small frogs and shrimps does anyone know if there is anything similar to these suitable for a cold water set up. Thanks

You can add coldwater snails, look in the pond-fish section at your lfs.

xoxylotl

i cant ever sell it but i reckon these might fill the need you have. ive never kept coldwater but i do remember someone saying that the fish may try to nip the gills so not sure if they need to be in a species tan but needless to say they look amazing

Weather loch, hillstream loach or hong kong plec, gold apple snails, ramshorn snails. axylotlyls grow large and need a species only aquarium - but are great!

golden apple snails are no good for anything under 23C. they can live in 18C but barely ever move at lower temps.

joe: i've got a few types. they all breed readily so to fill a 60L i'd go for 10-30.
not much, depends on species.
algae, leftovers and any vegies you might put in.
