PLease could someone advise me on a RO unit please. There are 2,2 and 4 stages and i'm guessing that 4 is the one to go for. I have a rio 400 (400lts) money is a factor but want something that is good and does the job, but not something that creates loads of gallons a week thats overkill.
Looked on the ro-man website and they seem to be a good price.
Any advise would be cool.
cheers,

drummerduck, I purchased the 50 gallon a day from RO-man, but it is in US gallons so in reality its about 30 ish gallons. However the actual output is dependent on your water pressure. Mine is very low and yeilds about 10 UK gallons a day! Its really slow and yes RO-man do sell an in line pump to speed it up, but at a cost of a further £85 pounds I'm prepared to be patient! Ok its taking me about 10 days to get my water as I'm filling my tank from scratch but after that I feel my RO is perfect as it will produce small qty's for water changes etc... I will store this water in 2*5 gallon containers for emergencies etc.. My RO unit also has a DI filter on it to.. My tank is 100 gallon by the way. Hope it helps, dont always think buying bigger is better, it all depends on what you can afford too.. Keep in mind though Alan is a marine GOD! |

Retail Price: £85.00p Incl. VAT £74.48p Incl. VAT
4 Stage 50 Gallon Per Day RO SYSTEM WITH DI UNIT
The 2P-RO50-INDI is a full sized 50 US gallons per day unit. This full size unit provides better pre-filtration than the basic systems and less chance of membrane fouling. This membrane will remove an average 97-99% of tap water contaminants and the DI will reduce this even further.
The membrane will remove an average 97-99% of tap water contaminants. As this is the heart of the system we only use High Quality “Short-leaf" Thin Film Composite Membranes, these are US made membranes not inferior quality Asian copies.
The System also has a flush kit fitted as standard. Flushing the membrane will extend its life,
The systems also comes with a pressure gauge, so you can see how much pressure is running to the membrane. This will help you to determin how well the system is running and see when the sediment filters are getting block so you know when to replace them to keep your system running to its maximum potential.
Ours system now comes with double “O” rings on the prefilters housings; this reduces the possibility of water discharge due to mains hammering and o ring trapping/failures. (We are the first to add this to RO systems in the UK but we are sure others will follow)

whats your opinion? seems like a good purchase to me, stage wise and price wise.

If you can stretch it go for the 100 gpd 6 stage unit I have the one with out all the meters and that cost me £130 you can get it at the moment for £145 with the meters.
I can fill a 10 gallon bucket in about 4 hours with it. Best thing I ever bought for my fish aside from the refractometer. |

The picture you are showing is the exact one I have. I bought an in line digital meter from ebay brand new too, it tells me how my filters are performing etc.. cost £20 and works really well. Gotta go for the one you can afford, you can always upgrade later with add ons to your exsisting unit. |
