2 x 300 watt heaters are more than adequate for a tank this size. Assuming the heaters are working correctly, the solution is simple, increase the water flow in the tank, your filtration should be more than enough to do this but if not, then maybe you should consider something different (what filters do you have)

You could also add a small powerhead to achive this

you aint using one of those old time strips are you? they can be so inaccurate. maybe the thermostats are slightly wrong on the heaters.

I mean have you turned the thermostat up to make the heaters run longer to warm the water up more

do you have the heaters close to each other?the heat off one of the heaters may be interfering with the thermostat on the other, try putting them at either end of the tank,or put them diagonally to each other(that is the plastic tops together and the heater running 45degrees away from each other)

i would put a lid on the top ie glass sliding lids and increase the water flow with a powerhead or pump i have a 10x3x3 2x 300watt and they are more than adeqate were do you have this tank situated .

I currently have 1 300watt in my tank 5*2*2 and it copes well easy. Its also placed in the sump. I'm downgrading to 2 150watts or 2 200watts so yours has to be ok! I think possibly you need to look elsewhere for the problem, the lid may be a good area. Get 2 pieces of glass and some sliders from a glazier, should cost no more than £20.

the indicated heat on the heater setting seldom reflects the reality of the thermostat setting. Turn it up and see what happens.
